January 2012 Recap

The first weekend of January was the third annual GRunveiled bridal show that I plan with my colleague, Joy'l. It was a huge success and I loved how my space came together this year. We were on the local news (both Fox 17 and WZZM 13) and also listed in the Grand Rapids Press.
My space was a little DIY hot cocoa station, and I loved chatting with all the visitors we had. To see more photos - professional ones too! - check out the Pearls Events blog post here.

Today Eames is officially a 10-month old. He's wearing all 9-12 month clothes and pajamas as I packed all his 6-9 month clothes away last week. I have to admit the past 10 months have been a blur and before I know it, we will have a one year old little boy. He's looking less baby-like and more little-boy like to me, and it has been so fun to watch him grow and learn new things.

Eames skipped sitting and went right to pulling himself around the house in his own army crawl months ago, but he's finally(!) sitting up by himself. He also started pulling himself up to stand a few weeks ago and I've baby proofed the house more since! I know it's going to be soon where he doesn't need the sofa to balance, and will be chasing Olive around the house in no time.
Eames is eating everything we give him, and while he enjoys all fruits, veggies, meats & breads we've tried, he still seems to enjoy baby food, which is fine, as it fills his belly. He has started self-feeding, but he's also still nursing a few times a day. We just kinda do whatever works!
He loves his walker and flies around the house looking for who knows what, and also enjoys sitting in his Tripp Trapp while I prepare dinner, clean the kitchen, or just to hang out and watch Greg do the dishes.
Greg & I just keep looking at each other and wonder where the time is going. We have loved every second with him, and are looking forward to watching him learn even more.

I was quoted in the Grand Rapids Press for a story on Wish Upon a Wedding, the Michigan chapter. I haven't gotten too involved yet, but have helped spread the word! I was interviewed for the story, and it was fun to have my relatives see my face (which I didn't know for sure would be in the article!) in the paper!

The second photo is of Greg's Christmas gift to me - some Merrell snow boots. I've been lusting after a pair for quite some time, although didn't seem to find the exact ones I wanted. He picked some out for me and wrapped them up as a surprise on Christmas morning. I LOVE THEM! So warm, and they are super cute.
The third photo is one I captured of myself on a good hair day. Lately, Eames & I hang on the living room floor most days, and I rarely put on makeup. He's so active, that it's play-play-play all day long. I try & work while he's napping and after bedtime at night, but it's a crazy schedule. This happened to be a day I did my hair - and it cracks me up I caught Olive snoozing over my shoulder!

Ooh, I couldn't resist a few more of Eames. Love that face!

And here's today - our snow filled backyard, new toboggan from Grandma, and some hot cocoa to keep me toasty warm after our snow walk this afternoon. It was a low key weekend on Louise Street, which are my favorite!

February is my favorite month because I celebrate my birthday on the 4th, and I also love Valentine's Day. It arrives on Wednesday and I'm ready to roll! Saturday is my 31st birthday, but I'll also be celebrating a new daughter with my friend Abbey at her shower, and also a marriage with my cousin Leigh at her wedding. At the end of the month, Greg and I have plans to take our first getaway without Eames. Yes, I've been gone overnight from him for work, but not with Greg! We are very much looking forward to it.
